Environmental Consulting & Regulatory Advocacy
Our regulatory advocacy professionals have nearly 100 years of combined experience working environmental and natural resources policy and legal issues.
Why You Need Regulatory Advocacy in California
The California environmental policy landscape has changed dramatically over the past two decades. The political imperative to drive progressive environmental policies here and in other jurisdictions, and the increasing complexity of those policies, has contributed to a shift in how environmental policy is developed and how it evolves over time.
The Legislature is increasingly focused on framework bills that outline ambitious goals and then delegating authority to regulatory agencies with the requisite jurisdiction to determine how best to achieve those goals. From the Global Warming Solutions Act and the Green Chemistry laws enacted in the late 2000s, carbon neutrality and extended producer responsibility laws enacted in the past decade, to pending legislation seeking to create a brand-new regulatory program to restrict the use of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in thousands of products, our clients need more than an effective legislative advocacy strategy to protect their interests.
That’s where our professionals come in.
Relatively few Sacramento-based firms engage in regulatory advocacy, and even fewer have a subject matter focus, breadth of experience, and depth of expertise comparable to KP.
